FAQ

Answers about requests, materials, money, and the parts makers will not print.

What is 3DParts.US?

3DParts.US is a platform connecting buyers with independent makers who 3D-print hard-to-find, discontinued, and replacement RV and camper parts. 3DParts.US is not the seller or the manufacturer of a part. The public catalog is a set of part types, not a warehouse of factory parts.

Is my part already listed?

No RV parts are listed yet. Older listings on this domain were general 3D-printed goods, not camper parts, and they are not shown. If you still have a link such as /request.html?part=p01, the form opens and you can describe the RV part you need.

How do I request a part?

Open /request.html. Give the part a title, add the RV make, model, and year if you know them, pick a material or ask to be advised, set a quantity and a budget, and leave your email. Paste a link to a photo or an STL, STEP, or 3MF file if you have one. The form does not accept file uploads. The description is published on /requests.html. Your email is stored so we can reply, and it is not shown on the site.

What will makers on this site not print?

Makers on this site do not print propane or LP fittings, regulators, or gas-appliance parts; anything next to a furnace, water heater, or stove burner; hitches, couplers, brakes, axles, suspension, jacks, stabilizers, or entry steps; slide-out or awning mechanisms; wiring connectors or 12V or 120V electrical parts; smoke, CO, or LP detector parts; emergency-exit window hardware; badges or logos; or any structural part. Makers only take work they can attest is non-structural.

What does a part cost?

Posting a request is free. You set a budget, and a maker decides whether they can meet it. Part payment is arranged with the maker. This site does not run checkout for parts. A 10% platform fee on a completed sale is the fee in the current site rules (products.json). It is not collected automatically here, because part checkout is not built. The maker who sells a part is responsible for refunds, replacements, and return shipping. 3DParts.US does not cover those. Sponsorships are separate and are paid through Stripe.

Which material should I ask for?

ASA is the usual suggestion for a part that sits in the sun, because it resists ultraviolet light better than PLA or PETG. PETG is the usual suggestion for interior parts, and it handles heat better than PLA. PLA can soften inside a closed RV on a hot day. TPU is a flexible plastic, not a plumbing seal. If you are unsure, choose “Not sure — advise me” on /request.html. A maker confirms the filament. We do not claim a printed part is UV-proof or heat-proof.

Who handles a defect or a refund?

The maker who sold the part does. That maker is responsible for quality, fit as described, defects, refunds, replacements, and return shipping. 3DParts.US does not cover returns, shipping costs, or refunds. Report a defect to the maker within 14 days of delivery. If the maker does not respond, email [email protected] and we will try to help you reach the maker. That is not a promise of payment or a refund from 3DParts.US. The rules are on /terms.html.

Are these official factory parts?

No. A print is a replacement made by an independent maker. It is not an OEM part, and it is not certified for a safety-critical use.

How do sponsorships work?

Featured is $99/month. Supporter is $49/month. Both are Stripe payment links on /sponsor.html. Featured is a sponsor line on every page and a logo in the newsletter. Supporter is a name on the sponsor page. There are no sponsors yet. We do not publish visitor or customer counts.

What is the email list?

The email form sends your address to /api/subscribe. We email a confirmation link. The address joins the list only after you confirm. A pending link expires after 48 hours. The list is for RV and camper part notes. Unsubscribe by replying to a newsletter email. /privacy.html describes what we store.

Who do I contact?

Email [email protected] or use /contact.html. The topic choices are sponsorship, selling, feedback, a bug report, or other.
